IXIA BEACH

Anchor 1
ABOUT

Considered by many as one of the most fashionable beaches on Rhodes, Ixia was the first ever beach built up for tourism on the island. Many of the island's best hotels are located here, and as a result there are numerous cafes, tavernas and nightclubs. Ixia beach is long and fairly narrow, made mostly of pebbles with some sandy areas.

There are lots of sunbeds and parasols for hire. This place is hugely popular with windsurfers and if you want to learn you can hire gear and take lessons. Some of the sections of beach are private but there is plenty of public areas. This area is great for a family holiday, and many places here have all inclusive deals.

Just a few kilometers away is Rhodes town, with it’s maze of cobblestone alleyways, souvenir shops and tavernas. Also close by is Mount Filerimos where you can find the ruins of two temples, including the Monastery of Filerimos. The green valley of Petaloudes, known as Butterfly Valley is also a fantastic place for a day trip any time during the months of June through September.
