KALLITHEA BEACH

Anchor 1
ABOUT

A huge favorite with the locals, Kallithea beach is far enough away from Rhodes town to have that 'get away from it all' feeling. During the Italian occupation of the island, they built magnificent baths here, and although the original source dried up in the 60s, the buildings are still there and have been restored to their former glory.

Majestic pavilions and fountains decorate the structures. The beach around the baths gets quite busy in high season, as the tourists flock in to see them. If you head a short ways towards Faliraki, you will find a little dirt track down to a beach that is virtually deserted compare to what you encountered around the baths.

This is the ‘secret’ Kallithea, where you will find fantastic little places to eat and friendly locals. There are tiny little inlets and cove, pine-covered bays and stone pools with rocks you can dive from. Each little private cove has it's own taverna and you can hire sun beds and parasols available. If you plan to stay in Rhodes town, this is a great place to spend your days on the beach.
