Not far from Rhodes is Stegna beach. It is a very family oriented beach that is popular with locals and people staying at the little hotels that run up the main road. There is also a private beach for guests of the one and only hotel that fronts the actual beach, occupied mainly by groups from Germany.

This is a very relaxing place, popular with couples. It is not overdeveloped or highly organised but you will find a kiosk, water sports, a few tavernas.The beach is sand and pebbles and the water calm and clear. If you are one to get up early you should try and catch one of the amazing sunrises.

 

Stegna is the ideal place for families and if you just want to get away and relax, not really suitable if you’re after a huge nightlife scene, although there is a nightclub there, but this only opened on weekends. If you want to go to Rhodes town you can catch a regular bus.
