Just 4 km from Faliraki, Traounou beach is one of the coolest places on the island. The beach consists of tiny light coloured pebbles that slope gently into the crystal deep waters. It’s still pretty much in it’s natural state, with only a small area organized with beach umbrellas and sunbeds. The rest is left in a natural environment.

 

At one end of the beach is a fantastic cave that was formed naturally by the sea and spectacular high rocks all around it. This area has a rather private mystical feel to it. You won’t find a lot of tavernas and bars here, but there is a little fish tavern if you get hungry. It is a bit of a long walk from Faliraki but totally worth it. It is not overdeveloped or commercial and feels much like what have beaches would have felt like 30 years ago on the island.
