Second International Roads to Rhodes Marathon 2015!



Join us for the 2nd International Roads to Rhodes Marathon at the 26th of April 2015 and experience all the ancient and medieval history of the island as we run along the seaside with the spectacular views of the deep blue colors of the Aegean Sea. As one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, runners will see the island where the famous Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World was standing, along with the medieval Old Town, which has been declared a World Heritage Site. The route will traverse the western coastal part of the island and will arrive in the city center of Rhodes in a festive atmosphere.

The Rhodes marathon has now the official approval of the Hellenic Athletics Federation SEGAS along with AIMS & IAAF which ensures the validity and the international recognition of the race.

Important info:

Αll the races (10K, 5κ, and marathon) will begin along the beautiful west sea coast and will finish in the Rhodes center city to a festive crowd atmosphere.

The ROUTE for the 42,195 km. is:

Starting point: provincial road Mandriko -Emponas 1 km after Mandriko to Embona (greenhouses-plateau), Mandriko, Ancient Kamiros, Kalavarda, Fanes, Soroni, PPC, junction to Tholos - Doreta hotel, junction to Butterflies, Paradeisi, Koufas, Kremastis Bridge (below), Kremasti, Ixia, Ialysos, Ixia, Kritika, Kato Petres (bottom), Kanaris Coast, Georgios Papanikolaou, Casino, National Theatre, Freedom Square, AKTAION termination.

Date: April 26, 2015

Starting Time: 8:30AM

Bus departures at 06:30AM in front of the Bank of Greece, Freedom Square Rhodes.Must finish in 6 hours to be an official finisher.

All the Marathon athletes must be over 18 years old.

All the participant athletes on the Rhodes Marathon race will receive:

Bib number - Timing chip - Finishers’ medal - Participation Certificate - Water, juices, sport drinks, soft drinks and medical services during and after the race-Bus transportation of the athletes to the race starts - Cotton bag with the official T-shirt of the race.
