The management of New Technologies Department of the Municipality of Rhodes, is delighted to confirm and announce the possibility to locals and guests of the island to access free of charge, high speed - quality Wifi!
Based on the availability of the high speed internet lines built, Ialysos, Kremasti, Soroni, Salakos, Pastida and Archipoli have been initially chosen to offer this complimentary service.
Name (SSID) of the network is RHODES ISLAND.
The New Technologies Department has finalized the upgrade of the internet network and has started the deployment of this free for all Wi-Fi project in the above areas.
For the time being the maximum available speed per village , follows:
Up to 50mbps at : Kremasti and Ialysos
Up to 24mbps at: Soroni, Salakos, Pastida and Archipoli
Municipality of Rhodes plans, similar developments in the entire island, as soon as possible.
Although Wi-Fi usage, will be totally free of charge and users will be able (except for browsing) to log in social networks / chat and communication apps, such as Facebook, Instagram, Skype, Viber and more, access will be time restricted and downloads of music / movies etc will be forbidden.
